For many college students (myself included), grocery shopping can be stressful and overwhelming. Whether it is because of tight budgets, large crowds, or confusion over what to get, the grocery store is not always an enjoyable experience. Here are a few tips that might make it easier, and hopefully will even make you look forward to your trips to the grocery store!
1. Plan ahead!
Think about what you may want to eat in the upcoming week and the ingredients you will need
Create a list of everything you want to get- ingredients, produce, snacks, etc.
2. Shop on a full stomach
As cliché as it may be, shopping when you are hungry will make you much more likely to pick up things you don’t need and may go to waste
Eating before helps to stay focused on the goal!
3. Coupon!
While we may still be college students, you are never too young to start couponing!
Look online, ask at the register, or become a rewards member at your local grocery store to take advantage of any savings you can
4. Make it a part of your weekly schedule
Plan to go to the grocery store on the same day every week
You don’t necessarily have to go on the weekend- the store won’t be as busy during the week!
5. Bring a friend!
Bringing a friend or a roommate to go grocery shopping can make the whole experience more enjoyable
You may even be able to find some new favorites based on what they get!
